Damage & Late Return Policy
Last updated 2026-08-04. This page is maintained by RENTAL ARCHIVE to answer common questions about renting with us.
You are responsible for the garment while it is in your possession. This page explains what is covered, what is not, and what happens if a dress comes back late.
Fair wear and tear
Light marks, loose threads, a popped hook or a small seam repair are part of renting and are covered by us. Please do not attempt repairs or cleaning yourself.
Damage beyond fair wear
Rips, burns, pulls, missing beading, broken zips, dye transfer and stains that cannot be professionally removed are charged to the renter based on the cost of repair.
If a dress cannot be returned to rental condition, or is lost or not returned, the renter is responsible for the retail replacement value of the garment.
Returning on time
Your return date is shown on your booking. Dresses are usually booked back-to-back, so a late return affects the next customer.
Late returns are charged a per-day late fee until the dress is back with us. If a late return causes another customer's booking to be cancelled, the renter may also be charged that rental amount.
How we assess and contact you
Every dress is inspected on return. If we find damage beyond fair wear we will contact you with photos and a breakdown of the cost before charging anything.
